EVERYDAY CARE

How often do you really need a cleaning?

Every six months is a good default, not a rule. Here is how we decide what interval suits your gums.

Two toothbrushes on a table

Every six months is the number most people know, and for many it is about right. But the honest answer is that it depends on your gums, not the calendar.

What we look at

At each visit your hygienist measures the small pockets between gum and tooth. Healthy pockets are shallow and do not bleed. If they stay that way, six months works well.

When we suggest sooner

If gums bleed easily, if you have had gum treatment, or if you build tartar quickly, a three- or four-month interval keeps things stable. We will always tell you why.

And if you are rarely in trouble? Good. We will say so, and we will not invent reasons to see you more often.
