How it feels
Placement is numbed and quieter than people expect. The days after feel similar to having a tooth out: a little sore, a little swollen.
Steps
Consultation and 3D scan to check the bone and plan the angle.
Placement of the implant, usually under local anesthetic.
Three to four months of healing while the bone bonds to the post.
The final crown is scanned, made and fitted.
Aftercare
Soft foods and gentle rinsing for the first week. After the crown is on, brush and floss it like any other tooth.

Am I a candidate?
Most healthy adults are. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes slow healing; the scan tells us if there is enough bone.
